Lung cancer involves uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the lungs, this causes a tumor. Tumors can be malignant or benign. Even with the possibility of a benign tumor, lung cancers still end up to be the most common killer cancer in the United States.
Recent records show that fourteen percent of all cancer cases in the country are lung cancer cases and twenty-eight percent of all death among cancer patients are lung cancer sufferers.
Common cause of lung cancer is breathing impure air such as polluted air, industrial chemical exposure and in great extent, cigarette smoking. Exposure to asbestos will likewise lead to Mesothelioma or cancer of the lining of the lungs.
Lung cancer treatment varies depending on the severity and stage of the cancer. If lung cancer is detected on its early stage, diagnosis will be easier and management of the cancer will be much more workable.

Nausea and vomiting are among the most distressing and feared side effects of cancer and cancer treatment. Beyond being unpleasant, the nausea and vomiting associated with cancer and its treatment can lead to serious and life-threatening complications, such as nutritional depletion, metabolic imbalance, esophageal damage, expulsion of oral chemotherapy agents, and withdrawal from potentially curative treatment. Thus, effective treatment for nausea and vomiting is critical to the care of cancer patients.
Nausea and vomiting are common side effects for people undergoing cancer treatment. Nausea is when you feel sick to your stomach and vomiting or emisis is when you empty the contents of your stomach. Both are frequently associated with chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Getting rid of cancerous tumors has never been much of a problem for doctors. The problem is in killing or removing the cancer without doing the same to the patient. Radiation therapy has long been among the best treatments for cancer. Radiation destroys the cancer tissue, but it also damages healthy tissue. Furthermore, since exposure to excessive radiation increases the odds of getting cancer, cancer treatment can actually be the cause of a reoccurrence of cancer.
Since the beginnings of radiation therapy, focusing the radiation exclusively on cancerous tissues and avoiding exposure to healthy tissue has been a goal that radiation oncology has always strived for. The more a radiation oncologist is able to avoid radiation exposure to healthy tissue, while focusing larger amounts of radiation on cancerous tissue, the higher the survival rate becomes and the lower the side effects of treatment.

For most diseases, you have not to see a doctor any more when you have been cured. But cancer is an exception. When a patient discharged from hospital, he was always benn told to have a regular reexamination. Why?
Cancer treatment results in clinical divided into four types, were cured, improved, stable, and deterioration. Cure generally refers to complete eradication of cancer cells through surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy when the cancer is at an early or mid-term. However, the most important thing to test the treatment of a cancer is time, that is five-year survival rate or ten-year survival rate usually mentioned in medicine. The incidence of cancer is slow, and it is very difficult for people to find out, the development of cancer is also covert, only to a certain stage, abundant cancer cells assemble and take shape, the cancer may be discovered via CT or B-mode ultrasonography.

Cancer Treatment With Vitamins
03/03/10

Whenever a new study about cancer is being conducted, people are constantly asking, “Is the total cure for cancer discovered yet?” Cancer is the most severe disease that could hit a person. There are many types of cancers and most of them are terminal. This means that the patient who is suffering from it would eventually succumb to the disease. Cancer occurs when the different cells of the body are invaded and killed by the harmful type of cells called the cancer cells.
Right now, studies and research are being directed regarding the use of Vitamin C to cure a person of cancer. It was believed that large amounts of Vitamin C in the body could kill cancer cells. Doctors are currently validating the facts behind this theory.
Vitamin C could either be taken orally or administered through IV. In the different studies conducted in the different parts (more…)
The role of nutrition in cancer patients is very important. Not only for the body but the mind. My husband was given three weeks to live in 1999. He was on radiation and chemotherapy.
The chemotherapy made him lose his appetite, plus his esophagus had narrowed. It was as thin as a match. There were body changes as his right lung had been removed in 1998. His spinal cord was taking many twists and turns. His esophagus with it. I was told it would not be the cancer that killed him but the lack of protein. I told the doctor I would fight it and he said there was no hope as he had cancer in an advanced stage.
I declared war with the cancer. I fed him raw eggs and milk with a high protein drink. It was easy to swallow. I did my research on all high protein foods (more…)
Viable Alternative Cancer Treatments
29/12/09
If you’ve just started exploring alternative cancer treatments there are plenty of things you should be aware of. Alternative cancer treatment is now used by millions of patients after being discouraged by the results of traditional treatment, or as a natural way to fight their disease.
You should be aware that alternative cancer treatments now offer cancer treatment benefits for a growing number of people. Many cancer patients are becoming more open to supplementing their conventional cancer care with alternative medicines.
For those individuals who are in the advanced stages of their cancer, alternative treatments can be another option that will provide a last attempt to fight their cancer. For those in advanced stages of cancer it does not make sense to accept the fact that conventional treatments will no longer work, when alternative treatments are still available.
In fact, many cancer survivors who had no hope (more…)
If you’ve just started exploring alternative cancer treatments there are plenty of things you should be aware of. Alternative cancer treatment is now used by millions of patients after being discouraged by the results of traditional treatment, or as a natural way to fight their disease.
If you have cancer, are you aware of the benefits offered by using alternative medicine to treat your cancer? A growing number of cancer patients are using alternative medicines in conjunction with their current cancer treatment to improve their situation.
Sometimes, due to the spreading of the cancer, conventional cancer treatments may not be an option. Alternative treatments provide the last ray of hope to a recovery. On a logical level, it makes no sense to only explore conventional treatment options when the cancer is in its late stages. Alternative cancer treatment may be a viable option.
In truth, many (more…)
After a diagnosis of cancer there are generally two paths open to people. They can undergo an orthodox medical treatment program for the cancer or they can look at alternative treatments for cancer. A third option involves doing nothing and hoping things sort themselves out. So which is best?
Unfortunately it is practically impossible to say because there is no absolute research into this. The reason that there is no research is because medical professionals are not allowed to prescribe alternative treatments. The result is that in almost all cases a patient who is diagnosed with cancer undergoes an orthodox treatment program including chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. Very few choose to either do nothing or to pursue alternative treatment options.
The reasons that people tend to go the orthodox medical route are varied and complex, but if we want to simplify things as much as possible they boil (more…)
